Improving energy efficiency in the buildings sector in Armenia
Eco Ltd is supporting the development of a project that will increase energy efficiency in buildings sector in Armenia. The project task was to oversee the development of a proposal for funding by the Global Environmental Facility.
The work entailed advising project management on selection of experts, the best strategy for leveraging efficiency in both public buildings and households, the selection of pilot sites, the design of effective project activities within a sustainable institutional framework, and the development of the results framework (logical framework or logframe) and appropriate indicators for monitoring.
The proposal and request were submitted to the GEF in the spring of 2010. 
Armenia’s government is now committed to improving energy efficiency in the buildings sector, and more-efficient building codes will be a critical step towards achieving that goal. The project focused on building the capacity of Armenian architects and engineers to design and construct buildings that save energy and money over their lifetimes.
