After the project has been identified and the background information has been analysed, any successful project or programme must have a well-developed methodology and approach to implementation. Developing this methodology and approach includes answering questions such as:
- Who are the targeted beneficiaries?
- What change in behaviour is wanted?
- What methods and what channels can be used to bring about that change?
- What specific tasks are necessary to induce the change that is necessary?
- Who should carry out those tasks?
- How should the project be monitored and evaluated?
Eco works closely with the eventual implementers of the project to systematically plan the methodology, approach, and tasks of each project to ensure that it is clear what will be done to reach the goals of the project. We draw upon the lessons learned by designing projects for dozens of organisations over the course of the last 10 years.
Tools for project strategy development include:
- project approach and methodology
- task list
- workplans/calendars of activities with tasks assigned to roles
- detailed logical framework
- monitoring and evaluation plan.
