About the UN Climate Change Conference:

‘The conference is designed to take the next crucial steps in the UN climate change process. Following agreement on the implementation guidelines of the Paris Agreement at COP 24 in Poland last year, a key objective is to complete several matters with respect to the full operationalisation of the Paris Climate Change Agreement.’

Date:
 2 – 13 December 2019

Location: Madrid, Spain

E Co. attendants

Two members of the E Co. team will be present at COP25 this year.

Principal consultant, Jasmine Hyman, will be in attendance: “I’m attending COP to track trends in climate finance and to understand how climate mitigation and adaptation projects are performing across the policy spectrum. I plan to bring these insights back to E Co. so that we can design more relevant and more effective climate projects.”

Analyst, Sadie DeCoste, will also be there: “I am attending the COP to advocate for ambitious action on loss and damage, which is being considered in the review of the Warsaw International Mechanism on Loss and Damage. I am also advising the Canadian Government on policy as a member of the official Canadian delegation. I am interested to meet people working on climate action in various countries and institutions to share ideas and collaborate.”
