Project formulation short course 2015
16 March 2015 - 17 March 2015
E Co. prepared the short course: “Formulating Project Proposals for Climate Change Mitigation and Clean Energy: Designing Clean Energy NAMAs,” once again in collaboration with the University of Twente and the UNEP DTU Partnership (formerly UNEP Risø Centre).
The aim of the 5-week residential course was to develop participants’ skills in preparing projects in the fields of clean energy access, environment and climate change, such as Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMA). After completing this course, participants were better prepared to mobilise climate finance and catalyse clean energy deployment in developing countries.
The course included topics such as Policy and Approaches for Clean Energy, Low Carbon Technologies, Market Assessments, Strategy Formulation, Proposal Writing and the Financing of Sustainable Energy.
Course participants, working in pairs, developed a climate change mitigation and/or clean energy NAMA proposal. This proposal then received feedback from course staff and was presented to the group.
This short course connected University of Twente’s experience of delivering energy-related training and teaching, UNEP DTU Partnership’s knowledge in the development of the NAMA concept, and the market leadership of E. Co in the field of project formulation for sustainable energy and climate change.
