Roberta Piacci

In a nutshell, tell us about yourself.

I grew up in Naples, in Italy, right by the sea. I have been working in International Development ever since I obtained my MA in Public Policy at King’s College London. Through my work I visited many countries in Asia, Africa, the Balkans and the Middle East, where I could see how climate change impacts the lives of the poorest and most marginalised communities of the world. This really motivates me to play my part in the global fight against climate change and social injustice, for a more sustainable and inclusive society.
I am now based in Milan, but I still run to the sea as soon as I can!

What are your loves?

Spending time with my loved ones, reading books, enjoying sunsets by the beach, travelling

What are your hates?

Science deniers, close-minded people, stereotypes

When are you happiest?

When I am with my loved ones, when I am by the sea, and even better when both things happen simultaneously!

Which book has changed your life?
“One Hundred Years of Solitude” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez and “A Private Matter” by Beppe Fenoglio
