We want to encourage deeper thinking. As well as developing projects, we support other related activities that can help improve climate and development outcomes.
We believe in strengthening our sector through capacity building and learning. Many of our assignments will have a capacity building component to help clients and partners work more effectively in future. We also produce webinars so that participants can deepen their knowledge about key topics.
In addition, we are collaborating with the University of Twente to offer international training courses to help public and private sector practitioners improve project formulation and enhance their ability to access climate finance.
This page provides an overview of the courses and webinars we offer.

Designing Green Climate Fund projects
23 February 2017 - 23 June 2017
The Green Climate Fund (GCF) lies at the heart of efforts to raise USD 100 billion for climate change mitigation and adaptation activities in developing countries. There is significant demand to understand what’s working – and not working – in GCF project development. We regularly conduct studies and surveys that go deeper into sector wide themes, challenges and opportunities. Our ‘GCF insight’ series sheds critical light on experiences, challenges and trends in developing GCF projects, from the perspective of GCF stakeholders – including National Designated Authorities (NDAs), Accredited Entities, Implementing Entities, Project Developers and others.
Below, please find a list of our most recent ‘GCF insight’ studies. Please contact us for more details about any of these, or to suggest a future ‘GCF insight’ topic.
GCF insight 05: Co-financing: Stakeholder perceptions
E Co's latest GCF insight explores stakeholder perceptions of co-financing.
GCF insight 04: “Cross-cutting” projects and adaptation-mitigation balance
This fourth edition explores cross-cutting projects and the balance between mitigation and adaptation projects.
GCF insight 03: “Paradigm shift” in GCF project development
This third edition explores the significance of the transformational or paradigm shift potential of GCF projects and how it can be enhanced.
